Dave's Thanksgiving Wine Picks

Happy Thanksgiving to all our great customers! We have some terrific turkey day wines for you all over the store, but I wanted to focus on a few that have wowed me just recently. For me, a great food wine is a balanced wine with elegance and grace. Check these out — they’re perfect for pairing with your Thanksgiving spread.

Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis Sainte Claire, 2015, France ($21.99)

A rich take on Chablis, yet has a salty tang to the apple, melon, yellow plum and lemon flavors. Its chalky, mineral finish adds a sense of place and will make your turkey dinner a joy. — 90 points, Wine Spectator

Graville-Lacoste “Graves” Bordeaux Blanc, 2015, France ($18.99)

75% Semillon, 20% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Muscadelle, this wine is fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel. Mid-weight, clean and fresh, it is a great alternative white for fans of everything from unoaked California Chardonnay to Sancerre and Albariño.

Rose Rock Pinot Noir, 2014, Oregon ($29.99)

This medium-to full-bodied, silky wine possesses a velvety and round texture. The first vintage of this wine, the intensity and balanced fruit is very prominent. Winemaker Véronique Drouhin emphasizes Rose Rock’s elegant and refined qualities, making for a delicious and age-worthy cuvée. — 94 points, James Suckling

Felsina Chianti Classico Riserva, 2013 ($31.99)

This super refined wine with sliced berry and hints of cedar and vanilla is full-bodied, bright and crisp with a lovely finish. From Tuscany, this wine is versatile enough to go with many different dishes. —92 points, James Suckling

Cheers!
