We were honored to have Alexandre Gabriel, owner of Plantation Rum in our Mt. Pleasant location for an incredible staff training. We learned so much and definitely gained even more respect for this already highly respected product. Plantation Rums are a beautiful mix of time-honored rum traditions and innovative risk taking. Alexandre and his team are never afraid to try something new, and integrate a variety of techniques into making their rum. The result is a range of rums that rivals wine in its depth, aromas, and flavors –from the rustic bone-dry Fiji Rum, to the deliciously-sweet and juicy Plantation Pineapple, and everything in between.
It’s easy to see why this stuff flies off the shelf. We have a limited number of bottles Alexandre was kind enough to sign for us. Grab one while you can! If you want to try before you buy, we recommend taking a trip downtown to Charleston’s first and only rum bar–Cane Rhum Bar. Owner Paul Yellin grew up down the street from the West Indies Rum Distillery (a Plantation Rum partner) and pairs his beautiful rums with incredible Caribbean dishes.
