Every month, we’re teaming up with one of our restaurant or bar partners to bring you a Bottles cocktail of the month. May’s cocktail, Puttin’ On the Spritz, comes from Gerry Kieran of Seanachai. Get to know the pro behind the bar with our quick Q&A for Gerry:
1. Name: Gerard (Gerry) Kieran
2. Hometown: Dundalk, Ireland
3. Working Behind the Bar Since: 2011
4. Establishment that Made Me Want to Bartend: Every Irish pub in all the wee villages in Ireland led me to owning my own.
5. Strangest Drink I’ve Ever Tried: When my girlfriend Kelly and I travel, we always search for cool cocktail bars. We were recently in Lisbon, Portugal, and found this awesome cocktail bar. The first cocktail that they made for me had juiced roasted red peppers in it, and it was delicious.
6. At the end of a long shift, I pour myself: A beer, usually whatever local beer we have on draft.
7. Desert Island Drink of Choice: This is a hard one, I’d probably choose rum or tequila with fresh citrus or pineapple, something refreshing.
Stop by Seanachai to try Puttin’ On the Spritz, a refreshing spring take on a classic spritz, and visit Bottles Mt. Pleasant through the end of May to pick up the recipe and ingredients to recreate it at home.
Cheers!
