Shuck 'Em!

Oyster roast season is upon us, and we’ve picked out our LOCAL favorites to pair with these salty seasonals:
Charleston Distilling Co. Carolina Reaper Vodka:
Perfect in a Sunday Funday oyster roast Bloody Mary.- “100% corn vodka macerated with dried Carolina Reaper Peppers, the current spiciest pepper in the world. Coming from upstate South Carolina, this pepper is a hybrid of the Red Habanero and Ghost Pepper. The rich sweetness from the corn is quickly cut with a sharp, slightly lingering spice.”

Oysterman Muscadet:
Not only delicious with oysters, but helps replenish oyster beds on the SC coast! – “A perfect white wine with fresh seafood. Enjoy it on its own as an apéritif. For every case sold, Frederick Corriher Wine makes a donation to help reclaim coastal oyster beds.”

Holy City Pluff Mudd Porter:
Nothing reminds Charlestonians more of home than the smell of pluff mudd. This brew will have you feeling like your eating oysters on the water no matter where you are.- “Pluff mud [plÅff-mÅd], noun, A mixture of dirt and water indigenous to the marshes of the South Carolina Lowcountry, with a distinct odor that’s endearing to locals, but off-putting to tourists and redcoats.
Our second flagship beer was an effort to bring the American Porter style to the Charleston market proper, while also making a beer that stays appealing as the mercury rises. We think we’ve succeeded in Pluff Mud Porter. It presents (and smells) like a classic porter, with subtle chocolate notes and a silky finish, but the medium body and tame ABV keep it refreshing at all times. Enjoy this throughout the year, in or out of the marsh.”
